ANYWAY....

Got this message from a friend few days back. Very touching one, specially for me. Felt like sharing with everyone.

People are often unreasonable & self-centered...
Forgive them ANYWAY.
If you are honest, people may cheat you...
Be honest ANYWAY.
If you find happiness, people may be jealous....
be happy ANYWAY.
The good you do today, may be forgotten tomorrow...
Do good ANYWAY.
Give to the world the best you have, yet it may never be enough...
Give your best ANYWAY.

B'coz in the end, its between YOU & GOD.
It was never between you & them ANYWAY.

WINDS OF CHANGE

2008 was the most eventful year as seen by many Indians in their life till now. It was a year when Indian Sports made Name & Fame on the World stage, when the rapidly growing Indian economy was tested, historic deal was struck, when the National security was Challenged & the Largest Democracy in the World was reaffirmed as elections were held in few states. But now we are in 2009. Will everything remain the same or will something CHANGE?

Today Politics is the root cause of many problems. Mr. L.K Advani said a fews days ago-- “Just as the Winds of Change have swept across the United States, I have no doubt that India too will witness Change when the next parliamentary elections take place in a few months” . The change which he is talking about is between parties. He wants his party to be ruling at the center & this is quite possible. Will this Change solve the problems we Indians face? If Not, then what kind of change do we require?

I have seen pictures of Obama having fun with his family. While the US is facing burning issues like - Economy, Afghanistan, Iraq, Palestine, Terrorism and now Pakistan but still while delivering a speech, a delicate smile & a huge amount of confidence can be seen on his face. His body language & that of many other leaders like Putin, Blair , Bush to name only a few, inspires people to believe that they are in safe hands. But as far as India is concerned ,the whole bread of politicians needs to be changed.

India's Youth (0-25 years) population is over 500 Million. The new Young Indian cricket team which is the current T-20 Champion and is pepped as a strong contender for the No-1 spot in Tests & One dayers as well this year, has already set an example of how well youth can dominate. And there are many other examples not only from sports but from almost all fields which shows the Power of Youth. But leaders here are well over the age of 65 when they reach high positions. They are barely able to sit & stand without some external support. With Mr. Sekhawat(age 85) also joining Mr. Advani(age 81) for the battle to be the next Prime Minister of India along with some others, it simply ads salt to the wounds.

We Indians need to ask ourselves - Are the people we are electing Fit for the Job? (If not Physically then at least Mentally). How can we expect highly aged people to think Fast, Fresh & Fruitful . Its like you want to play a latest Game on a Pentium 3 system. Its time for young India to wake up & realize its right to Vote & Elect intellectuals with fresh, sharp n confident minds. Lets hope that the Winds of Change will blow away all the Problems/Issues faced by this great nation in coming years.

INDIA Of MY DREAMS

As yet another year goes out of the window, I am again reminded of my dream- to see INDIA positioned as the No-1 Superpower of the world. This position is currently held by the USA but in most part of the very long history of the World India held this position. Even when the Greatest emperor in Indian history (Akhbar) died in 1605 A.D, India's GDP was the highest in the world. But after that due to several reasons her position started declining until 1947 (year of independence) when she was considered as the most underdeveloped nation in the World.

More than 60 long years have gone by since than. Question- Can she regain its top position? Ans:- Surely CAN.

In his book "The Elephant, the Tiger and the Cell phone", Mr. Shashi Throor beautifully writes about the past, present & future of India. He describes India as a big, fat Elephant & the whole World as a jungle with many other animals in it. Till 1700 A.D, this elephant was the most respected animal in the jungle simply because she was very Polite, very big & very Powerful. But gradually in the next 250 years, she became thin & weak. Even the small animals used to bully her. Then she started regaining her lost Pride, Self Esteem, Power & Weight. But she still had a long way to go as far as the Respect was concerned because now she was Lazy & liked spending time sleeping.

Recently things have changed a lot. This elephant now looks young, slim, trim, moves faster & has developed black strips on her skin. She is turning into a Tiger with the help of all the things she has learned from the past Ups & Downs of her life because she knows that in the Future she will face tough competition from the American Eagle & the Chinese Dragon while the neighboring Monkey tries his level best to distract her. It seems that the Time has arrived yet again for her to Rule The Jungle.

Over the past 2 decades this sleeping Giant has moved from a largely impoverished & underdeveloped nation to a innovative, fast changing society & 1 of the World Leaders in the realms of Science & Technology. This 2nd largest nation in the World also has the largest democracy & stands 10th in current GDP. It boasts a middle class of more than 300 Million people which is as large as the entire population of the USA. Also the most Diverse (max languages, max religions, max Gods) nation in the World. It is expected that India will overtake USA & become the 2nd superpower in 2030 & it will overtake China to become the 1st Superpower in 2050.But I believe that if each & every Indian realize his/her duties & do them sincerely than at least 10 years can be saved.

There is no doubt in my mind that India is a great nation but my dream is to see her become the Greatest.
Wake up all Indians, our country won’t ask us for this again. So give some time for it and feel proud to be an Indian. I feel proud to be an Indian for all these facts & many many more & also because of all the unknown soldiers who fight for us till their last drop of blood.

CHANDIGARH - 1st YEAR AT INFOSYS

Today is Diwali but this day is very important to me for one more reason. On this date last year I reached Mysore for my training & tomorrow I will complete my 1st year at Infosys. And what a year it has been. First the dreaded training then 7 months at Chandigarh. Its always good to be at Chandigarh cause not only it is the cleanest cities in India but also because it is the richest (per capita income is highest in India).

But the foremost reason for I been happy is because I got a project to work on the 2nd day itself at Chandigarh & in the 7 months I have worked in 2 projects & I will get one more after a month. Besides many of my friends from Mysore are here too. Gaurav sits next to me in the cubicle & my ML (Saurav) also & the good thing is that we go for all the movies together. We have a small group (Aditya,Vishal,Vikesh,Saurabh,Sharma) also & we always try to have lunch & dinner together.

Only problem here is the lack of outdoor ground. So basically you can not play any outdoor sport ( i am already missing Football). But i hope that Infosys will soon do something regarding this cause this DC is still in development stage. We celebrated the 2nd anniversary of Chandigarh DC some 10 days back only.So its relatively very new ( as Infosys is actually now 27 years old).

INFOSYS TRAINING AT MYSORE

My DOJ was 29th Oct 2007 & the place was Mysore in Karnataka some 140 kms from Bangaluru.
In the train from delhi to bangaluru i made some 16 new friends within 2 days of journey. We all have heard a lot about Infy campus but when we reached the place we all felt for as if we have come to a different world.

Infosys Training Campus is certified as the best Corporate training campus in The WORLD.It took us no time to realize this. Now it can train 15,000 employees at the same time in 2 Global Education Center Buildings (at my time there was only 1 building & capacity was 6,000). You can choose food from 5 different countries. 3 foud courts with a combined sitting capacity of 3,000 at a time. There you can enjoy all outdoor sports & many indoor games. All in all approximately 15 sports almost free. Then there was this big building where the actual training took place. That was the most dreaded place. you have to listen to the lectures everyday in the morning & then do the practicals in the afternoon and as if it was not enough , you have to complete the assignments (for the 1st 2 months i was not serious, simply copied it from girls) too till midnight( because after midnight some of us used to play CS ). For the first 2 months we used to play (football, volleyball, TT) also along with the studies....i became a very good TT player because of a girl (1st of my crushes in Mysore, other 1 was in my class). I used to go to the TT hall just to see her but within a month myself became a really good player. But it was only for the first 2 months haa cause after that i flunked in module 2 times (to clear any module there you should score atleast 65 out of 100 that too with negative marking). So afterwards i left sports apart & concentrated only on studies.

Those 4 and a half months were the toughest span of my life (atleast till now). I can never ever forget those 4.5 months. Finally i scored 4.60 out of 5.00 which is considered as a good score and i was very happy the day we got the results. And to add to it, i was posted to Chandigarh (Chandigarh & Pune were the only places where i wanted to go) along with many of the new friends i made there period of 4 months. God please don't send me to any such training again.

SELECTION IN INFOSYS..

That time i was only in my 6th sem ( 3rd year) and the test was in Ahmedabad (Nirma Ins of Tech) which was 60 kms from our college on the 21st of May 2006. I reached there 1 day before (so that we will have no problem in findidn the college reaching the examination room well before time) with Debaraj & we stayed in a hotel. As expected we reached there well before time but then some guys told us that our documents were also required so went back to the hotel. Finally we reached the examination room 10 minutes after the examination started. I prepared very hard this time cause last time i flunked the TCS exam just 20m days back where i reached the final round and because of my fault i could not clear.

So even though i was late but i had my confidence and out of the 1300 people who gave the exam that day140 were selected & i was one of them. I was wearing a red colour T- shirt (Bad boy was written on it in the front) , a purani jeans n chappals. Because some of us didn't knew that the interview was on the same day. Then i took pants from Kinkar, Shirt from Debaraj, shoes from Mayur and tie & socks from Mihir. Myself & 17 others from my college got their result at midnight that day. May be i was destined to be selected in Infosys & not TCS. People say everything happens for good. Till now i am loving Infosys. Touch wood.

COLLEGE LIFE-- GUJARAT

Its very obvious that because i spend my college life(Engg in Electronics) there it was the most fun filled & most enchanting part of my life. But Gujarat changed my life a big way. Now i find myself as a totally different boy ( when compared to faridabad & shillong). Sometimes i feel that that guy was not me. This way i learned -never to think about your past but think of your present & future only.

When i reached Gujarat, i found out that Gujaratis take great pride in their language & culture. But their language is very easy so it took only a month for me to get hold of it. When i joined my college( Birla Vishwakarma Mahavidyalaya) i met these seniors and i am really thankful to God that i met these seniors cause they played the most vital role in changing my life. Some of them like- Vipin, Vinay and Rahul have incredibly high IQs & enormous amount of knowledge (Vipin -national 4th in Quiz). Some others (Geo, Sanal, Navneet, Priyanshu) were full of fun. They taught me to stay happy , what may the situation be. And some (PC and Naren) were perfect allrounders ( Naren used to score good grades and was a member of college TT, Football, Cricket, allmost all the teams). And i met some Dadas also who were so good in heart. It was Only because of these seniors that i started participating in almost all events even when i was in 2nd year only.I became 1 of the most famous personalities in the college within 2 years & then i learned so many things & never stopped.

Fortunately i found some very good friends also. Some (Kunal, Rahul, Aditya) have incredible knowledge of business n management. Others (Daya, Amit, Alap, Ghanshyam, Viral) were great fun to be with. In first 2 years my room partners were Rupesh & bhavik and in 3rd & 4th year Sanket and i can never even imagine him as Angry. For those 2 years it felt like living with Mahatma Gandhi himself ( so polite).

I met Poonam & Priyanka in 1st year who were in IT( not my class). We used to study together in Library ( though it was more mischiefs & fun than studies). But these 2 girls changed me from a very very shy n introvert guy to just a bit shy n extrovert guy. I had some other good female friends also like Hiral, Anjali, Madhuri, Rupal, other Hiral, Priya, Vijaya and some others. I had some juniors also like Anuj, Prajul, Jha , Manish, Vijay n others.

Let me tell you about that place ....normal person who is not been to that place can only imagine about that place. Our college was located in Vallabh Vidhya Nagar ( dist Anand) , 36 kms from Vadodara in Gujarat. Just imagine a place having more than 30,000 students ( which means > 10,000 girls ) , more than 35 buildings for students and almost 20 colleges running at the same time. This is exactly the description of that place. One thing which i liked the most was that there were some 5 theaters n 1 multiplex within the range of some 6 kms from the college & that too very cheap. Every week i used to watch 2 movies in these theaters and some more movies in my own home theater. One more thing which i enjoyed a lot was playing football first with seniors n then with juniors.

One thing which i can definitely say about gujarati people is that they are the most polite & friendly guys in all over india. They don't believe in showing their power , may be because thats the land of Mahatma Gandhi.

THEN CAME MIZORAM

When i think of this place there are just so many memories of this place. I just can never forget this place. So many things happened here that some of you would not believe. Kendriya Vidyalaya Aizawl is the name of the school i joined in 10th std. In my first day in the school i found out that the school is made of TIN totally. I felt so unsecure in the first few months but then it had one positive side also- during rains it(tin) used to sound so loud that the teacher could hardly teach anything. And i also realized that the girls n boys used to sit so far apart because there was a war (not cold but hot) between them. Girls were having a leader (Rangoli- i never talked to her in 3 years) and boys also (Jomy- is still a very good friend of mine). We had a very very small (2.5 mts) bus which used to take 30 people at a time in 2 trips as there were 60 students in the colony. And once in a week it used to break down and then we had to go by a Truck (that truck was used to bring water from the river for the colony and had 3 large tanks at its back) . Our schoolmates used to laugh at us even our teachers and we used to call that truck a TITANIC. Our school located at the top of a hill, from there we could see so many places.

Strength of the class was only 30 .....out of which 15 boys n 15 girls (but in faridabad it was 14 boys & 26 girls--great na?). But 1 very important thing which i noticed was that there were some 6 mizo local boys & girls in the class. I dont remember the names of the girls (may be because of the war we boys were never bothered) but names of the 4 boys are Brian Lalram Thianga Sailo (are it's the name of a single boy- 3 more remaining, be patient), Jackson Sailo, Henry Jurthlanga and Vanlal Rasanga (i might not be 100% correct). But i learned so many things from them specially how to have a good healthy diet. Each 1 of them used to bring 2 to 3 boxes of food every day for lunch. Many north indians have this perception that they can eat anything which is living....all these north indians are 98% correct. I got inspired by them as they were very close to me and used to sit behind me in the class. Atleast i started to have lot of vegetarian stuff n some non veg stuff also & never used to say no to anything which was cooked in home. In Mizoram u find very few things to eat.

In 11th std i started liking a girl (inspite of the War). And that sardar (Manraj) sitting besides me used to tell me what to do n what not to do...he he...funny..is'nt it? And then when i was in 12th a mizo girl from 11th proposed me in front of my whole class....but we thought it was a dare game...and replied her very rudely.

Mizoram made me strong ( i became the arm wrestling champ in 12 th std, before that i frnd Manraj was, who left the school in 12th- again hard to believe na??? hmmmm, meet me). And i did a lot of skits there & some other cultural activities. I also realized that i was the fastest runner(sprinter 100 mts) in the school. I scored 85% & 84% in 10th & 12th respectively. For the first time in my life i met teachers who were so strict (Ayyappan sir & Parthasarthi sir) & so disciplined. These 2 along with Sami sir were the best teachers i ever saw in my life. And how can i forget Srivastava sir who taught us so many things about life (he was a physics teacher then- 50% physics & 50% guru gyan, he he).

It is a beautiful place . Its population is only 800000 and Its literacy rate is 99%. 98% of the total population is Cristian. Its a state with the highest density of AIDS in India. But I have sooooooo many memories of this place that i would like to go there anytime.

LIFE IN FARIDABAD

From Shillong we came to Faridabad, a place 36 kms from New Delhi in Hariyana. I was 8 years old that time. We spend almost 7 years there which is a lot of time (specially in my fast moving life).

It was only after coming here that i realized that people have so many things to eat here and drink as well (before this i never knew that Buffaloes give milk which can be consumed & all food stuffs were so cheap here). In Bhutan there is no real milk ( only powder milk) and in Shillong only a few cows can be seen. Even now(after 15 years) condition is still almost the same in Bhutan & Shillong.

We lived in NIT Faridabad and fortunately this time my school was very close to our house (unlike Shillong, thank God..). In 7 years we changed 3 homes in Faridabad but my school was always 300 to 600 mts from home. I got admission in Kendriya Vidyalaya No-2. I found this school even more special (even though it was not situated on a hill) for many reasons. First the building of the school was big and it had a big PLAIN ground too (unlike Shillong). Then there were so many boys & girls studying at the same time and many teachers as well. Other thing which struck me was kids of some of the teachers in the same class i was in. That time (3rd std) they(Sahil Shukla, Shivani Vij, Ashna Anand and a sardar who joined the class later on) were the toppers of the class and they had a very good control over the class. But within a year i realized that they are good people (as later on Sahil became one of my closest friend). They remained the toppers till 5th std. In the meantime i found my first crush also (whats there in the name yaar......ok ok meet me personally & i will tell, I think my classmates of that time know well). I wont write any more about her though cause i dont like thinking about my past. But those were one of the finest moments of my life. And also because i was such a big dumb during the time i was in Faridabad that it is tremendously hard to believe that it was I only who had no guts to talk to any girl (specially when i had to initiate).

6th std was special cause after so many years , i finally stood atleast 3rd in the class. But one thing which was even more special was that i scored a 100 in Maths half yearly exam and a 78 out of 80 in the finals. And then for the next 4 years i was invincible in maths. And then i stood 2nd or 3rd in all my remaining years in school. It was in faridabad only where i started liking Football as a game and i was the fastest bowler also, a good fielder and a good batsman also. And i learned many other sports also.In 6th std i used to stand 3rd from the start in the row during prayers but in 11th std i used to stand 3rd from the last. All because of Yoga and my yoga teacher(Yoga was my sub from 6th to 8th std) liked me a lot as i was very good in doing all the 20 asanas that were taught in the class. Even during the 50 days holidays i used to do the asanas with Ajay (who was not in class). Even today also i try to be regular & it has helped me immensely.Click HERE to check the blog.
In 9th std we(Praveen, Vikas, Narender, Prince, Deboshesh, Yogender & some others) all decided to go for tutions at a place where our teacher was a bengali. But some of us never studied there . We used to make fun of the teacher & tease the girls who were our seniors. It was great fun. After 6 months we all left him (teacher). Then i used to go to Rai uncle to study along with Neha. I learned so many things from him, specially discipline.

In all i experienced so many things in the span of 7 years that its really very hard to write all the things at one place and at one time. I met all sorts of people......Bhais (Dons, but who would have thought that i would become 1 in college), comedians, sports persons, muggers, intelligent people, good teachers , bad teachers, good girls , bad girls ...etc.

SHILLONG- HEAVEN IN NORTH-EAST

From Bhutan we moved to Shillong the capital of Meghalaya. We used to live in the house of a Bengali family(Bhattacharyas) .Our house owner had 2 kids-Vivek who was 5 years elder than me & Riya who was 1 year younger than me ( this is how i learned Bengali).

Straight away i was admitted in Kendriya Vidyalaya -Happy valley. I can remember they asked me to write my name is English during admission. He he...anyways moving forward...That school was at some height haa.....and we used to travel to school every morning on foot accompanied by my mom as there was no well defined road way. And let me tell you it was tough, specially during rain( and Meghalaya is the state with maximum rainfall in the country he he) cause we have to climb through hills and pass through a small river which used to flood during rains. It was a 2 kms long journey every day in the morning and then afternoon. This is why mom n dad are special. taking so much pain in protecting me n my sis while getting wet her self in the process. THANKS MOM n DAD.

About the school- it was the best in the region. And it had two big buildings separated by 500 mts, first 1 for primary studies n other one for secondary n senior secondary. I can remember 2 boys. First 1 in my class -Sunrise (what a name, thats y i rem) & the other 1 i dont remember the name but he was in other section and a bengali, but y i remember him is because he never allowed me to come first in the class( i stood second in 1st & 2nd Std).

About the place.....what can i say simply..Awesome. As i said its a Heaven in North East.....once my dad decide go for a tour taking his official Jypsy (this is y government job looks better sometimes). We went to Cherapunji (place with the max rainfall in the world) & it was raining that day too & other places which i dont remember all the names. But we saw Elephanta Falls, an ancient Cave ( very big), a 100 mtr tall Shivling made of rock( it had small trees in top), a place where you can see 7 water falls at the same time and many more places. I can remember 3-4 earthquakes , and at the time of an earthquake all Bengalis used to start praying ( very loudly). This is what i appreciate in Bengalis, their believe in God is Great.

But in all WHAT A PLACE it is. I think that everybody should see that place atleast once in a life time. I would definitely go to that place again some time for sure.
